In this year’s Super Bowl Green Bay Packers’ Coach Mike McCarthy is feeling confident that they will emerge victorious. “The one thing you want to see in your football team is that the players have maintained confidence throughout the process,” McCarthy said. “Our guys have done that. They totally believe what’s in front of them. They believe in what they’ve seen on film. We respect Pittsburgh, but we feel that this is our time and Sunday will be our night.”

The Cheeseheads and the Terrible Towels would finally see each other as they shout their cheers and yells of their beloved team. The weeks now turned to days. The long wait is finally getting short. Super Bowl XLV is about to happen and this time around, the “Cheeseheads” will meet the “Terrible Towels”. It you’re a real football fan or has been monitoring football news, these words are familiar to you. These are the fans name of Green Bay Packers and the Pittsburgh Steelers respectively.

The Green Bay Packers defeated the Chicago Bears last Sunday with the score of 21-14. The whole team owe almost everything to the great man Aaron Rodgers. He played well enough to keep the Bears off balance all afternoon. Meanwhile, the Pittsburgh Steelers defeated the New York Jets with the score of 24-19 and they tied up with the Cowboys being the team having the most number of Super Bowl appearances.

Whichever team will grab the Vince Lombard trophy is still a mystery. Better clear up your schedules now and make way to witness this awesome event in whichever way you can watch it.

Jay Cutler’s Injury Brought Him Criticisms

The AFC’s weekend championship has been filled so many stories to tell. Not only the astonishing victory of the Green Bay Packers over the Chicago Bears but also with the significant injury that happened to the Bears’ quarterback. Jay Cutler unfortunately had a Grade II MCL sprain and wasn’t able to play after the first series of the third quarter.

Due to what happened, his toughness was then questioned through a flood of twitter comments and negative feedbacks from the game’s commentators. To name some, Jacksonville Jaguars running back Maurice Jones-Drew and Arizona Cardinals defensive lineman Darnell Dockett(notes), former players like Deion Sanders and ESPN analyst Mark Schlereth.

His coach, team mates and even the Bears’ GM Jerry Angelo defended him from the critics. “Our quarterback’s a tough guy. … It’s pretty simple what happened yesterday. Before the half, Jay hurt his knee. He showed a lot of toughness to continue to play with it,” coach Lovie Smith said. GM Jerry Angelo further added, “I certainly didn’t like what was said, and I take that personally, too. He’s our quarterback. We wouldn’t have been where we are without him. I want to make that clear. We stand by him. Nobody’s perfect. His play isn’t perfect. He’s not perfect. There’s not a person in this room or in this league that is, either.”

The Bears wasn’t able to make it to the Super Bowl XLV this time. They were defeated by the Green Packers which will face the Pittsburgh Steelers this coming February 6, 2010 in Arlington, Texas at the Cowboys Stadium. For those who can’t make it live, Super Bowl 2011 live stream would be offered by various sports sites. The official network which will be covering the event is Fox with announcers Joe Buck and Troy Aikman.
