US Navy To Split The Ship Over Tubbataha Reef

The Tubbataha Reef has been declared to be one of UNESCO heritage site and any damages on it would mean disaster.

It was just recently when a US naval ship grounded the site. The US government is held liable of the damages. In fact, it was found out that ship “entered without a permit” and it clearly violated section 19 of Republic Act 10067 or the Tubbataha Reefs National Park (TRNP) Act of 2009.

The Navy officials believed that there is no other way of solving the problem and prevent any further damage to the corals but to cut the ship into pieces.

As of the moment, the rescue officials are removing the toxic materials inside the ship and oil spill is very unlikely to happen. “We will strip it out beforehand. We’ll work to salvage any parts that can be salvaged”, says Lt. Anthony Falvo, a U.S. Navy Pacific Fleet spokesman in Pearl Harbor, Hawaii.

The ship is worth millions but the reef is priceless. Destroying the ship is the best thing to do than destroying the reef that took millions of years to form.

The reef is just one of the natural wonders in the Philippines that have been the reason why a lot of foreigners are into living in the Philippines for good. It is considered to be one of the perfect places of retirement in the world.

$45 Billion China Deals Awakens Jobless Americans

The great recession truly brought so much chaos in the lives of the American people these past few years. A lot of the country’s major companies closed and thousands lost their precious jobs. The nation who used to live in prosperity was left with no choice but to adjust and make use of what’s left. Some were lucky enough to keep their job but others just make use of the unemployment benefits given by the government for the mean time. There were some who were able to find a job after several months of waiting. Worst thing happened to those who are still hoping for an unemployment extension because sad to say, up to this time there isn’t a job available for them.

Just this week, the president of the rumored rising country China, Hu Jintao visited USA. Along with this visit are several deals for the American businessmen. A conference was conducted in the White House wherein President Hu, President Obama and America’s leading CEO’s gathered together for a multi billion worth of business transactions. Among the CEO’s were Steve Ballmer of Microsoft, Lloyd Blankfein of Goldman Sachs, Jeff Immelt of General Electric and Jim McNerney of Boeing.

Boeing planes were reported to be sold to China while there are business deals for GE in the aspect of energy, rail and aviation. This would generate thousands of jobs that would answer the prayers of the jobless Americans. Beijing just approved $45 billion in new contracts for U.S. companies to export goods to China which will support an estimated 235,000 American jobs.
